Subsidy is an aid, a help, a contribution, a benefit. It is a monetary value fixed and granted by the State, or another corporation, for a work of benefit or public interest, which plays an important role in the country's economy. It is a subsidy (monetary aid granted by public authorities).
A subsidy is a financial or other contribution made to any company or individuals for the purpose of helping or providing assistance. Ex.: subsidies for flood victims. A subsidy is also an amount that the State grants to another by virtue of agreements or conventions.
In Brazil, the salary received by senators, deputies and councilors is called subsidy.
Subsidies are also important information or data used as a basis for preparing a legal defense, a report, a study, etc.

Agricultural subsidy is a monetary aid that agricultural producers receive from the State with the objective of reducing the final price of products, allowing for greater competitiveness in the international market.
The subsidy for agriculture is usually accompanied by advantages, such as lower interest rates than the market, fiscal barriers and sanitary products for similar imported products, tax reduction, financing for the purchase of fertilizers, agricultural pesticides, machinery etc.
