History of Tupperware

Tupperware was created by the American Earl Tupper, in 1944, with the launch of plastic pots, which had as a differential the sealing closure system, ideal for preserving food in the fridge.

Two years later, the hermetic lid was created, which preserved all the properties of the food. In the beginning, the sale was made at commercial points and only in 1951 the sale started to be through the home demonstration.

In the 60s, Tupperware entered Europe, with the first demonstration in England. In the 90s the group created new products such as microwave pots, freezers, cups, jars etc.

The brand was launched in Brazil in 1976. Today its industrial park is installed in the neighborhood of Guaratiba in Rio do Janeiro. Home meetings are still responsible for a good part of product sales.

Today Tupperware has the participation of other product categories, such as cosmetics, which already represent a good part of the revenue.
