O Social Service for Commerce (Sesc), São Paulo unit, provided a platform for virtual education, the Digital Sesc. In it, the contents of the institution's collection are offered in different formats, such as audio, video, images and publications.
The project is intended to encourage education and access to culture in this difficult time of pandemic, where people need to stay at home.
Sesc is known for promoting cultural events, such as presentations, concerts, exhibitions, stimuli for physical exercises and free courses prepared by qualified professionals, all available on the platform.
“In times of social distance due to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus, the action is part of the set of initiatives developed by Sesc São Paulo for the continuity of its educational mission and for the renewal of the relationship with its different audiences”, emphasizes Danilo Santos de Miranda, director of unity.
The resource groups features applauded by the public, such as the EAD Sesc Digital. In the initial process, the project is in beta phase, being subject to modifications according to interactions with users.
"This project aims to transpose the institution's actions to the environment and digital language, expanding the reach of its practices in action and cultural diffusion in a substantial and differentiated way, thus strengthening its commitment to a participatory, continuous and inclusive educational process”, highlights the executive.

Among the opportunities available in the tool, four courses are available at EAD Sesc Digital, in the areas of visual arts, citizenship and music. Check out:
- Basic Notions of Drawing and Comic Narrative, taught by Rafael Coutinho (began on April 7th);
- O Pintor Letrista — Introductory Lessons in Letter Painting, by Filipe Grimaldi (began on April 7th);
- How We Are Aging, under the mentorship of Zezé Motta (from April 17th);
- Viola Caipira, with instruction from Ivan Vilela (from April 24th).
To register for the courses, simply access the platform and create an account with the filling of personal data.
