In 1974, West Germany hosted the World Cup, and won the final with the Netherlands 2-1. In the 1990 Italian Cup, the West German team beat Argentina 1-0.

Women's Soccer World Cup

As stated earlier, the men's World Cup began in 1930. But the women only entered the field and started to compete in this world championship, in 1991, that is, just 61 years later.

THE first women's World Cup it happened in 1991, in China, and had the participation of only 12 teams, namely: Nigeria, China, Taiwan, Japan, Brazil, New Zealand, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden and the United States.

The second edition of the Cup also featured 12 teams. Between 1999 and 2011 the number of participating teams increased to 16 and, in 2015, the number of participating teams rose to 24.

It is not common knowledge, but unlike the Brazilian men's team, the Brazilian women's soccer team has never won a World Cup.
