Ask students if the water will ever run out, listen to the answers and direct them towards sustainable use ideas.

Explain that even though water is a renewable natural resource, that is, it is renewed through the water cycle, you need to use it sparingly.

Show students through images or videos that the main uses of water by humans are in agriculture (70%), industry (22%) and domestic consumption (8%).

Tell the students that Brazil is the country with the largest amount of fresh water in the world, but due to its relief and extension territorial, there is a huge difference in the distribution of this water and, therefore, many places go through long periods of drought.

Ask trigger questions for students to think about conscientious water consumption.

  1. How long do you take a bath?
  2. Do you turn off the tap to brush your teeth?
  3. And to wash the dishes, do you turn off the tap?
  4. Are the sidewalks swept or washed in your house?
  5. How can we save water?

After discussing sustainable use measures, give each student a sheet of paper and ask them to make mini posters about measures to save water. Display posters at school if a mural is available.

ASSESSMENT:

The evaluation of students can be done by participating in the classroom and making posters.
