Who was Allan Kardec?


Allan Kardec he was a French educator, writer and translator. His name was known as a great propagator of the Spiritist Doctrine.

Thanks to the teachings received from superior spirits, through various mediums, Kardec wrote the five books that would become the basis of spiritism, being:

  1. The Spirits' Book
  2. The Mediums' Book
  3. The gospel According to spiritism
  4. Heaven and hell
  5. the genesis

Furthermore, in 1828, in partnership with his wife, Amélie Gabrielle Boudet, he founded an educational establishment, where he devoted himself to teaching.

As early as 1830, he rented a house and started offering lectures and free courses in Chemistry, Physics, Comparative Anatomy, among others.

Allan Kardec died of an aneurysm on March 31, 1869, in Paris, France.

Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail began his experiences with spirituality in a period in Europe that called attention to phenomena described as “spiritists”.

He gave up his identity and professional activities to become Allan Kardec, a pseudonym that would come from previous incarnations.

Then, in 1856, he published the work The Spirits' Book, which exposed a new theory of human destiny and life. The work was a success and then Allan founded the Parisian Society for Spiritist Studies.

In 1857, Kardec published a revised edition of this work, which became widely recognized in France. Afterwards, he dedicated himself to laying the foundations for the Codification of the Spiritist Doctrine.

In addition, he founded and directed the Revista Espírita, which was dedicated to defending the points of view set out in his first published work.
