You free language courses, offered by the Department of Electrical and Computing Engineering (SEL), of the School of Engineering of São Carlos (EESC), from the University of São Paulo (USP), are open until March 13 (Friday).
They are 290 vacancies open to the community, distributed in 100 for the Spanish language, 160 for the German and 30 for the Japanese. The classes, all in person, are scheduled to take place from March to June 2020.
Opportunities will be filled according to the order of registration of candidates, but priority will be given to those who prove the need to study the language. To receive the certificate, the student must pass with a minimum average evaluation of six points and with at least 75% attendance.

Spanish
Registration for the Spanish course must be done in the site, between the 10th and 12th of March. No language experience is required, as during the course students will learn about writing, listening and speaking.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays, from 7 pm to 10 pm, in the Amphitheater of the Teaching Laboratory Building of SEL.
German

O German language course it also has as an application period the 10th to the 12th of March and must be made online. In it, students will learn contents about the alphabet, pronunciation, numbers, ways to present themselves, health, body, clothing, professions, vacations, etc.
The course will be divided into two modules, being conducted by volunteer exchange students who have experience with the language. To participate in the second module, it is mandatory to complete the first or pass a level assessment.
Introduction to German Language and Culture I classes will take place on Thursdays from 7pm to 10pm; Introduction to German Language and Culture II will be held on Tuesdays at the same time. Both will be given at SEL's Armando Toshio Natsume Amphitheater.
Japanese
Language experience is not required to register for the japanese course, which must be done between the 10th and 13th of March, through the form available on the site.
The course will take place on Fridays, from 1:30 pm to 4:50 pm, in the EL seminar room, with the content taught by volunteers who have experience with Japanese.
Students will learn about the alphabet, verbal conjugation, greetings, cultural aspects, among other elements of Japanese culture.
