Physical Appearance and Profession

Day-to-day informalities can hinder the referral of a young person to the labor market. These can come from their own physical appearance, often not well presented by them, but which are required to get a good job.

Today it is common to see, in all corners, young people with piercings in the eyebrow, tongue, navel, tattooed in more exposed parts, boys with long hair, the famous handmade curls, girls with dyed hair with streaks of colors like blue, both with baggy pants, falling down, showing their underwear, unusual ways of presenting themselves in an interview, in the future location of work.

A great detail when participating in a selection is to be dressed appropriately. Some companies maintain a more demanding, authoritarian posture, not admitting, into their workforce, people who deviate from normal standards in terms of physical appearance.

Therefore, to participate in an interview, it is better for the boy to wear dress pants, a long-sleeved shirt and shoes, which are also dress shoes. For girls, the same rules apply, especially regarding the use of provocative or informal clothes. Medium heels, dress pants and a discreet blouse or pantsuit will make a good impression.

Failing to take care of one's appearance can hinder hiring for an internship, as the companies are not connected only in their professional capacity, but also in the image that their employees pass on to their clients and Providers. It is as if the company's credibility was linked to good physical appearance.

Even though it seems an insignificant issue, it is good to remember that these are highly valued and that they are not seen as a form of prejudice, but as characteristics of the business profile itself.
