This standard is part of the set of standards designated ISO 9000 and can be implemented by organizations of any size, regardless of their area of activity.
O ISO 9001 aims to improve the management of a company and can be applied in conjunction with other operating standards, such as occupational health, environment and safety standards.
To obtain ISO certification, a company must meet certain requirements so that the various phases are properly fulfilled. Through ISO 9001, a company applies standards for its management and quality system in its processes.
This strategic tool is used in most countries around the world, with many awaiting certification and more than 1 million companies have this standard implemented.
Through ISO 9001 an organization improves the provision of service to the customer, enabling the improvement of the delivery mechanism, for example. Furthermore, it is also used to measure the level of customer satisfaction, improving the effectiveness of the company's management.
There is a Brazilian version of ISO 9001, designated as ABNT NBR ISO 9001, which also aims to establish consistent standards that increase the quality of management processes. When these standards are implemented and complied with, a relationship of trust is established between the company and the customer. However, an essential area of ABNT NBR ISO 9001 is that when the company does not comply with the standards, the customer must give feedback, communicating the problem, so that performance is improved in the future.
