Greenpeace is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) that works on issues related to the preservation of the environment and sustainable development, its headquarters are located in the Netherlands, however, it has departments spread throughout the globe.
Its performance is linked to the preservation of nature on a global scale. To maintain its actions, it uses financial resources that come from donations from of ordinary citizens, since the latter does not submit to accepting funds offered by governments or companies.
Greenpeace takes bold actions in the name of nature, for example, it stays between whale hunters and animals, stay small vessels in front of large ships that intend to dump waste into the oceans, in addition to getting in front of tractors intended for the logging.
Greenpeace was created in 1971, in Canada, today it has about three million financial collaborators. The NGO's job is to mobilize people about environmental issues through its actions unusual, the ideological current of this group consists of civil disobedience and acts always face-to-face.
The extravagant way of the NGO is deliberate, as it attracts the attention of the mass media, thus exposing the polluter, which is usually a company that cares about its image.
Among the various actions carried out by Greenpeace, many obtained satisfactory results, the ones that stand out the most are: end of atomic tests in Alaska and the Pacific Ocean, time target to end whaling and permanent protection of the Antarctica.
