The 22nd Brazilian Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad (OBA) is open until March 17th. Registration is free and can be done by the schools themselves (public or private).

The OBA is the largest scientific Olympiad in Brazil and has four levels of competition, the three being first for elementary school students, depending on the grade, while the fourth is for teaching average. The organization is formed by members of the Brazilian Astronomical Society (SAB) and the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB).

The 22nd OBA will be held on May 17 at participating schools, with tests comprising seven questions from Astronomy and three from Astronautics.
The medals of the Brazilian Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad will be distributed according to the score obtained by the participants of each level. The best classified will represent Brazil in the 2020 International Astronomy and Astrophysics and Latin American Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad.

Participants of the 22nd OBA will be able to participate in the Space Journey, an event to be held in São José dos Campos/SP. Students who take the vacancies will receive teaching materials and will attend lectures by specialists.
How to study for the OBA?
The study material for the OBA can be checked in the “Simulado OBA” application and by the videos, tests and templates from previous editions that are in the Olympics website.
13th Brazilian Rocket Show
Registration for the 13th Brazilian Rocket Exhibition (MOBFOG) is also open until March 17th. Participation is made by the registration with the OBA, on the same site, with the organization of the event being the responsibility of the Brazilian Astronomy and Astronautics Olympiad.
Participants will have to make rockets out of a paper tube, plastic straw or pet bottle and launch them as far as possible. The projects that reach more than 100 meters will have their students invited to the Jornada de Foguetes, an event to be held in Barra do Piraí/RJ.
The Rocket Show will award all participating teachers, principals and students with certificates of participation, plus medals for students with the best rockets results.
