Georgia. Georgia State

Located in the southeastern region of the United States, Georgia is one of the 50 American states. It is located south of Tennessee and North Carolina, north of Florida, east of Alabama, and west of South Carolina and the Atlantic Ocean. Georgia is known for its forests, which cover most of its territory. Pine, magnolias and peach trees are its most common trees, a fact that gives the state the nickname “The Peach State”.
After being the subject of dispute between Spain and the United Kingdom, the Georgia region came under British rule, in the colony called “Carolina”, which also included the States of North Carolina and Carolina of the South. From 1750, Georgia began to have a notorious prominence in agriculture, until it became the fourth American state on January 2, 1788, after the American Revolution in 1776. Agriculture was the main source of income in the state until the beginning of the 20th century, when its economy began to diversify.
The State of Georgia has flat terrain in the south and mountainous in the north, which causes the existence of many waterfalls. Its forests cover about 60% of its territory. Its main rivers are the Altamaha, Chattahoochee, Flint and Savannah. The state has a subtropical climate, with average temperatures of 5ºC in winter and 22ºC in summer.

Georgia currently has one of the highest population growth rates in the United States. Its economy is based on the provision of services, mainly on tourism and the timber industry.
