I leave Leboyer. What is Leboyer childbirth?

O childbirth leboyer was created by the French obstetrician Frederic Leboyer and it was introduced in Brazil in the year 1974 by the obstetrician Claudio Basbaum. In this delivery, also called childbirth without violence, we try not to stress the baby, making his first experience outside the womb less traumatic.

This type of delivery is done in low light, so as not to disturb the baby; silence, especially after birth; massage the baby's back to stimulate his lungs; bathing the baby close to the mother, which can be given by the father; warm environment, such as the mother's abdomen, in order to lessen the impact of the difference between the intrauterine and extrauterine worlds; and early breastfeeding. In Leboyer delivery, the umbilical cord is only cut when it stops pulsing, to facilitate the transition of breathing.

This delivery reduces the “trauma” of the baby leaving the mother's womb. Studies carried out by specialists in babies born through this type of delivery suggest that children became more secure, autonomous earlier and emotionally balanced.
