Solutions and their physical states

Solutions are mixtures of two or more substances, they can be classified according to their physical state: they can be solid, liquid, or gaseous.

gaseous solutions: all components are in the gaseous state, they have the typical structure of gases, but with one difference, the molecules in the solution are not all the same. Example: the air we breathe is a gaseous solution basically formed by nitrogen gases (N2) and oxygen gas (O2).

liquid solutions: in these solutions, at least one of the components is in the liquid state, the particles are arranged close to each other, characterizing the liquid state. When it is said that a solution is aqueous, it is because the component that is found in greater quantity is water. Example: aqueous alcohol solution, where the solute is alcohol and water is the solvent.

Do not stop now... There's more after the advertising ;)

solid solutions: the components of these solutions are in solid state at room temperature, these solutions are also called alloys. Examples: alloy of copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni), the solute is nickel and the solvent is copper. The alloy of copper and tin (Sn) is known as bronze, and gives rise to various objects. ´
