Relaxation activities for pregnant women

The modern world is marked by a tumultuous life, with several parallel tasks: working, taking care of the house, paying attention to the people we care about, going to the supermarket, the bank and many other places. This lifestyle is already too busy for one person. If, in addition to all this, the woman is still pregnant, responsible for the formation of another life, getting around the daily agitation becomes even more important. When this condition is associated with the anxiety and fragility that the woman usually presents during the pregnancy, so it is not difficult to conclude that relaxation activities provide well-being for both the mother and the drink.

It is always interesting to remember that relaxation techniques are important for both the mother and the child have a calmer and more balanced pregnancy, as for the mother to be able to remain calm during the birth. In addition, other benefits also occur with the practice of relaxation: against back pain caused by pregnancy and maintenance of the integrity of the spine.

The first thing you should know about relaxation exercises is that there are many of them, but they all have one thing in common: breathing control. It is through breathing control that anxiety is reduced and, consequently, the musculature is relaxed. The logical continuity is that if the body is relaxed, the mind also tends to calm down. The reverse is also true: when the mind is still, the body also reflects that tranquility.

There are three main relaxation techniques for pregnancy: eutonia, the Schultz technique and the Jacobson technique. Brief descriptions of these practices follow:

  • - Eutonia: The basic principle of eutony is energy saving. It is assumed that the practitioner is aware of their daily actions, so as to wear out less during the day. Alexander created means of motor locomotion whose objective is that the practitioner achieves harmony daily;
  • - Schultz Technique: Technique that proposes deep relaxation from loose sentences conducted by a specialized professional;
  • - Jacobson's technique: It is based on the practice of relaxation itself. It works from the voluntary contraction of the musculature and its subsequent relaxation.
