Temperature is a statistical measure of the level of agitation between molecules, related to the kinetic energy displacement of an atom or molecule. In physics, temperature is related to the internal energy of a thermodynamic system.
Temperature is usually measured by a thermometer and indicates the degree of heat intensity in a given territory. The Earth's atmospheric temperature is a result of electromagnetic waves coming from the Sun. Temperature variation depends on several factors, such as wind, air humidity, latitude, angle of incidence of the sun's ray on the earth's surface, etc. The temperature revealed in meteorological records is measured by thermometers that are not directly exposed to the sun's rays. This is known as the shade temperature.
The notion of heat is often mistakenly associated with a higher temperature, while the notion of cold is associated with a lower temperature. Despite this, heat is the thermal energy that is transferred from a body with a higher temperature to another one with a lower temperature. This is an ephemeral process that ends when the two bodies in question reach thermal equilibrium.

Popularly, saying that a person "has a temperature" indicates that they have a fever. The normal temperature of the human body varies between 36 and 37.5°C. An increase in these values indicates that the body temperature has risen causing fever, which is usually the body's response to illness.
In a figurative sense, temperature indicates the degree of tension or conflict at any given time in an activity, for example, political temperature.
