The Booklet of New High School was launched last night, August 9, at the Federal Senate, in Brasília. The material will be distributed in schools to clarify the main doubts of the changes established by the Law 13,415/2017.
Meet the New High School
The New High School Booklet is printed by the Senate printing press and will initially be distributed in Mato Grosso do Sul. The initiative for making the material was taken by the rapporteur of the Law on Changes in Secondary Education, senator Pedro Chaves (PSC-MS). Some copies have already been delivered as tests and, according to the Senate, the response was positive.
The idea of creating a teaching material that explains the changes in secondary education arose from the questions asked during the reform debate. Among the main doubts are the flexibility of disciplines, the technical training of students and the implementation of comprehensive education.
According to the Minister of Education, Mendonça Filho, the last part is missing for the New High School to take effect, which is the elaboration of the new Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC), which will define the curriculum (subjects) worked in 60% of teaching average. The Ministry forecasts that it will be approved in early 2018 and that the new high school model will be operational in 2019.

New High School
The New High School Law changes its format and disciplines, in addition to the possibility of taking advantage of credits in higher education. The changes are listed in the division of subjects; subjects that will be mandatory and the BNCC.
