The beginning of the history of São Paulo Futebol Clube (SPFC) was due to the history of Clube Atlético Paulistano. This has always been a strong club in the city of São Paulo, but it was not in favor of the professionalism that football was adopting. The result was that some Paulistano players migrated to another club, Associação Atlética das Palmeiras, which had its own stadium, but was in deep debt. It was this merger that gave rise to São Paulo, on January 27, 1930, but for a symbolic reason (date anniversary of the foundation of the city of São Paulo), the official document was dated January 15, 1930.
With many titles conquered since the first decade of its existence, São Paulo Futebol Clube, in the 1960s, started to invest in the construction of a stadium that is still gigantic today: the Cícero Pompeu de Toledo, popularly called the Morumbi.
The official São Paulo uniform is a white shirt, with two horizontal stripes in red and black, white shorts and white socks with horizontal stripes similar to those on the shirt. The second uniform is shorts and black socks, accompanied by a red shirt with thick vertical stripes in black and thin ones in white.
