Hemorrhoids are veins that are present in the anal canal, responsible for protecting it. When this does not occur, inflammation and pain are accompanied by bleeding, affecting both men and women. Hemorrhoid disease corresponds to the dilation of such veins.
The main causes are unbalanced diet and the use of force when defecating. This problem can often be hereditary and can appear in pregnant women due to the amount of hormones that increase during this period, causing inflammation of the hemorrhoids.
It is estimated that about 5% of the population has the disease, which, being diagnosed early, is fought with the use of ointments and suppository. However, if the case is advanced, surgery is recommended.
There is classification of hemorrhoids:
Hemorrhoids can be classified into internal and external, both cause a lot of discomfort and have similar symptoms, such as bleeding.
Internal or 1st degree hemorrhoids are less severe, their treatment is simple, using medications such as ointments.
The external one is more severe, also called 2nd degree, causes constant pain and it is often necessary to perform surgery to remove the dilated veins.
