Inflict or infringe?

Have you ever broken the law? And broke the rules?
There is no way this could have been possible, even because either "inflict" or "infringing" is said in the two prayers.
There is no way to inflict laws and infringe norms, or if you use one verb or another! However, both verbs are used in the legal environment or when referring to issues of rights and duties.
That way, if you infringe the law, the judge will inflicta penalty or fine.
Now it may have gotten even more confused, isn't it? But let's demystify this doubt!
infringe it is when someone transgresses, violates, disrespects a law.
Inflict it is when a penalty or punishment is applied, when someone or something suffers some kind of damage or loss.
If you get confused remember that breaking is when someone commits an offense. For example: He committed a traffic offense, ie he broke a law.
See more examples:
The) If someone infringe Prohibition, will be punished with detention. (violate)
B) they are stuck because infringed some law. (disrespected)

ç) The judge inflicted a very severe penalty for rioters. (applied)
d) the drought inflicted the plantation, only one farmer got away. (caused damage)

Do not stop now... There's more after the advertising ;)
