Difference between explanatory and predicative bet

Through the studies we do about the facts that guide the language, we find that among some of them there are similarities that sometimes end up making our understanding somewhat distorted. However, when we deepen our knowledge about the peculiarities that guide them, we find that such obstacles tend to lessen.

Thus, in order to help you not feel questioned, we have prepared some clarifications inherent to the differences between the explanatory bet and the predicative, since both are written between commas. So let's get to them:

When it comes to grammatical postulates, the bet it is characterized as that term that is linked to a name (whether it is a noun, a pronoun or any other equivalent), whose use is defined by an explanation or appreciation of this (of the name).

Do not stop now... There's more after the advertising ;)

So here's an example:

Sao Paulo, the brazilian metropolis, lives with several problems of a social order.

The highlighted term represents the explanatory bet of the prayer in question, bringing with it a nucleus (the most important, essential term): the word “metropolis”.

Beatrice, sweet and affectionate, received the award won in the student games.

Both highlighted terms represent the predicative of the subject, since they refer to the subject “Beatriz”.

Based on these postulates, we affirm that the predicative reveals itself as that momentary term that attributes a qualification to the subject. We are, therefore, faced with the difference that demarcates both terms.
