Petition. Characteristics of the undersigned

Democracy creates free people who can express their thoughts and opinions, claiming about any issue in specific situations, in short. Such aspects, when contextualized to the socio-communicative situations of which we are a part, seem to gain even more notoriety, especially with reference to textual genres. Some of them, par excellence, are characterized as being essentially argumentative, which enable the issuer to take a stand. critically facing a given problem, in order to direct it to a person with full powers to present the appropriate solutions. Among such modalities are the manifesto, the argumentative letter and this one we are talking about: the undersigned.
As it deals with matters of collective interest, the undersigned allows a group of people to meet and make the request necessary, which can be addressed to a mayor, the dean of a university, the manager of a condominium, among others. Thus, it is a situation whose context requires specific treatment, especially when it comes to the formal pattern of language. Thus, the structure attributed to this genre obeys the following parameters:

* Vocative – This is a space in which the recipient's name and/or position must be included, followed by the appropriate treatment pronoun;
* Body of the text – Part that presents the arguments themselves, accompanied by the respective requests that justify them;
* Place, date and signature of applicants – Along with signatures, it is possible to contain personal data, such as identity document, address, among others.
