War against Oribe and Roses

The War against Oribe and Rosas took place in 1851, it was a conflict involving the countries of the Paraná River basin. The origin of everything was when the Argentine president Juan Manuel de Rosas, joined the then minister of war of Uruguay, Manuel Oribe, in the attempt to constitute a unique country.
This was definitely bad for the interests of England, France and the Brazilian Empire, which fought the Oribes and Rosas plan. Uruguayan President Fructuoso Rivera and Argentine Unitarians were also against the attempt.
During the war, the Brazilian government used the strategic position of the Paraná River to fight Argentine forces. After a few attempts, a force composed of Brazilian troops under the command of Luís Alves de Lima e Silva, Argentines under Justo José de Urquiza, and Uruguayans under Fructuoso Rivera, invaded the territory of the United Provinces of Rio de la Plata (1852), in Buenos Aires, Rosas was definitively defeated, arrested and taken to London on a government vessel English.
