O Brazil has a territory of continental dimensions with an area of 8,547,403 square kilometers, thus, it is the third in extension in the Americas, moreover, it has recently been showing high economic growth, ranking among the main ones in this follow-up.
The Brazilian territory represents 47% of all emerging land in South America and 50% of the population. Geographically, Brazil is located in a privileged point of the South American continent and is considered a power, standing out in the political and economic field. The country shares borders with most of the South American countries, except Chile and Ecuador, this factor facilitates trade negotiations and the flow of capital and goods.
For the establishment of the current borders, several agreements and treaties were necessary, the territorial limits are intended to indicate where one country ends and another begins. To delimit it, it is necessary to use imaginary lines that are often marked by geographic or natural accidents (mountains, rivers, etc.), and there are also those created by man. Boundaries are established not only on land, but also in the ocean, airspace and underground.
As for the extension of the territory, we can analyze the ends of the country from north to south and east to west, in the first case, from Monte Caburaí (Roraima) to the Arroio Chuí (Rio Grande do Sul) are registered 4,395 kilometers, in the second, from Serra da Contamana (Acre) to Ponta do Seixas (Paraíba) results in 4,320 kilometers.
Brazil does not have large deserts or icy regions that can prevent the occupation of the territory as a whole, the existing inconveniences are caused by drought or by floods, however, this could be easily overcome if there were planning and political will to prevent all possible accidents resulting from these events. climatic.
Brazil, in terms of geographic location, is a western country, as it is located west of the Greenwich meridian, in addition to 93% of the territory is below the southern hemisphere, this factor directly influences the type of climate presented, in this case, considered as tropical.
Because of the size of the Brazilian area and its geographic location, there is an immense variety of plants and animals (biodiversity), which guarantees a great wealth of natural resources, which is used to compose the economy of the parents. In addition, the high temperature of a large part of the territory facilitates the development of agricultural practice for practically all crops.
