The term comes from the English “you” which means “you” and “tube” which means “tube” or “channel”, but is used in slang to designate “television”. Therefore, the meaning of the term “youtube” could be “you broadcast” or “channel made by you”.
The idea is identical to that of television, where there are several channels available. The difference is that the channels are created by the users themselves, where they can share videos on a variety of topics.
