Five Kissing Diseases

Kissing a lot of people in one night is a behavior that is easily observed among young people. Although it seems like a harmless act, the kiss exposes us to a series of problems, some extremely serious. During the exchange of saliva, there is the transmission of viruses and bacteria, for example, which can be pathogenic. Below we will list five diseases that can be transmitted by kissing:

In severe cases, the disease can cause the patient's death.
Meningitis

THE meningitis is a serious disease characterized by inflammation of the meninges, membranes that surround the nervous system. This disease can have various causes, such as injuries, medications, cancers and infections by bacteria, viruses and fungi. As the exchange of saliva occurs at the moment of kissing, it may contain organisms capable of triggering the disease, such as bacteriaNeisseria meningitidis.
Syphilis

THE syphilis is an infectious disease triggered by a bacterium called Treponema pallidum. It is a relatively serious disease that, if not treated properly, can progress to involvement of important organs such as heart and liver. Despite being transmitted predominantly through sex, syphilis can be spread by kissing if there is cancer in the mouth or the person has secondary syphilis.
