The 10th Brazilian Health and Environment Olympiad (Obsma), promoted by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), extended the deadline for registrations until December 13th. Before, the registration would end on June 30th.
Students from basic education, from 6th to 9th grade of elementary school (2nd segment) and high school, including Youth and Adult Education (EJA) can participate.
How to register?
Registration is free and must be made by the responsible teacher. The work entered for the Olympics must be original and necessarily address issues related to health and the environment.
Registration must be done in two steps:
1) Filling in this form
2) Sending original printed material by mail to one of Obsma's Regional Coordinations (Fiocruz regional offices throughout Brazil). The addresses are on page 8 of this regulation.
Also according to the document, the work must be registered in the Elementary or High School category. It is also necessary to choose one of these three modalities of Obsma 2020:
- Audiovisual production: each video must contain a maximum of 10 minutes
- Text Production: each material must have a maximum of ten pages and may contain illustrations
- Science Project: different projects can be presented, including scientific experiments aimed at verifying natural phenomena related to health and/or the environment.
award
According to Obsma 2020 regulations, primary and secondary education students and teachers who propose improvements to environmental and health conditions in Brazil will be awarded.
Phases
The work evaluation process is divided into two stages: regional and national. In the first, the evaluation committees choose the winners of each Regional, by category and in the three modalities.
Whoever is awarded in the regional stage will compete for the national stage. In this case, the six highlights of the 10th edition of Obsma will be chosen.
The lists of awarded works in the regional and national stages will be published in the Obsma's website and in the Fiocruz's website.
