At mountains or hills represent geographic relief formations, alongside plateaus, plains and depressions.
It is a high elevation that reaches an altitude of more than 300 meters. Remember that the hills are elevations of the terrain, however, they have an altitude of up to 300 meters.
Mountain ranges, on the other hand, are a set of mountains and mountain ranges, a set of mountain ranges, for example the Andes Mountains, in South America.
Mountain Formation
Mountains are generally formed over millions of years and basically arise in two ways: through the movement of the mountains. tectonic plates (phenomenon called orogeny) or through the process called volcanism. In this case, they are called volcanic mountains, for example, Mount Fuji in Japan and Kilimanjaro in Africa.

Although it doesn't have many high terrains, Brazil has some mountains, of which Pico da Neblina stands out, located in the Amazon and with 2994 meters of altitude. It is the highest mountain in the country.

Mountains in the World
Much of the world's relief is formed by mountains. On the American continent, the Rocky Mountains, in North America, are noteworthy, with the highest peak being Mount Elberte, with 4399 meters; and the Andes mountain range, in South America, where Mount Aconcagua represents its highest mountain, at 6961 meters.
In Europe, the most important mountain ranges are: the Alps (Alpine Massif), with its highest point being Mont Blanc, with about 4810 meters of altitude; the Apennines, with the highest mountain: the Corno Grande, with approximately 2910 meters of altitude.
Also on the European continent, the Carpathian Mountains stand out, where Gerlachovsky represents its highest peak, with 2655 meters of altitude; and the Pyrenees, highlighting the highest elevation, Pico Aneto, with about 3400 meters of altitude.
In Africa, the Atlas Mountains are noteworthy, so its highest peak is the Jbel Toubkal, with approximately 4165 meters.
Note that Asia is the continent that brings together the highest mountains in the world, for example, the Himalayan Mountains, made up of the Mount Everest, on the Nepal-China border. It represents the highest elevation on planet Earth.
