In the American continent, there are some dependent or autonomous territories that belong to some countries that are not in America. Examples of these territories are: Greenland, which is an autonomous region of the Kingdom of Denmark; Bermuda, which is a UK dependent territory; Falkland Islands, which are a British Overseas Territory, among others.

North American countries
United States, Mexico and Canada are the countries that make up North America.
There are three countries that make up North America: Canada, the United States and Mexico. These countries occupy an area of approximately 24,709,000 km2 and have a total of about 579,024,000 inhabitants. The languages spoken in these territories are English, Spanish, French, Danish, Greenlandic and the Mayan language.
These three countries have a free trade agreement which was previously called Naphtha. This agreement was replaced by the USMCA, which is also known as “NAFTA 2.0”. The countries of North America they exert great influence around the world, economically, politically and culturally.
The United States is considered the biggest economy on the planet. Canada, the main economic partner of the United States, is the second largest country in terms of land area in the world. Mexico is located in the southern United States and is the eleventh most populous country in the world.
Canada and the United States are countries that attract tourists from around the world, even Mexicans. Many people migrate to these countries looking for better Employment Opportunities, given the great development achieved by these nations.

Central American countries unite North and South America.
The countries of Central America are located in the central strip of the American continent. These countries form a isthmus (narrow piece of land surrounded by water that connects two continental portions) that connects North and South America.
Unlike the North American countries, the Central American countries do not have much economic influence. Its economy is based especially on agriculture. Together the central countries of America comprise an area of approximately 522,760 km2 and have about 92 million inhabitants. These countries were colonized in the early 16th century by Europeans, especially the Spaniards, and became independent from Spain around 1821.
The prevailing climate in most Central American countries is the tropical. Temperatures throughout the year are high, as are rainfall during the summer season. In terms of population, the most populous country is Guatemala and the least populous is San Cristóvão and Nevis. The most spoken languages in these countries are Spanish, English, French, Dutch and Papiamento, in addition to the native languages. the country with the best Human Development Index (HDI) is Costa Rica (0.766).
Central American countries constantly suffer from disastersnatural. Because they are in a region of great instability, many countries suffer earthquakes and are devastated by hurricanes. Some countries have not yet managed to rebuild for financial reasons and also because these natural phenomena are frequent.
South American countries
South America is made up of 12 nations, Brazil being the largest in terms of area.
There are twelve countries in the South America, Brazil being the largest of them in territorial extension. These countries comprise an area of approximately 17,850,568 km2 and a total population of 388 million inhabitants. The countries formerly inhabited by peoplesnatives, they were colonized by Europeans, like the Portuguese and Spanish.
These countries are part of agreements such as the Mercosur (Common Market of the South), ALALC (Latin American Free Trade Association), Unasur (Union of South American Nations), among others. Portuguese and Spanish are spoken in South American countries by the majority of the population. But in some countries French, Dutch (in Suriname) and indigenous languages are also spoken.
South American countries are rich in mineral resources, such as the Petroleum in Venezuela and ores such as iron and niobium in Brazil. There is also a hugebiodiversity either in the vegetation or in the fauna. But despite this, South American countries face several social problems. With low levels of human development, many countries do not have effective public policies and their populations face situations such as hunger, poverty and violence.
