Quran is the holy book of muslims, where the moral, religious and political codes of this people are specified.

The book of the Koran consists of several supposed revelations that Allah (God, for Christians) would have made to the prophet mohammed, during the first decades of the 7th century.
According to history, the prophet spent 23 years receiving revelations from Allah, having to memorize every word spoken by the Most High, as he did not know how to write. After receiving the revelations, Muhammad would meet with his companions and dictate exactly what Allah would have said, asking people to write everything on pieces of bones, animal skins and other materials rustic.
The Quran is divided into 114 chapters, called the suras. The chapters are subdivided into verses (known as ayat). Over the past 14 centuries, none
surah of the Qur'an would have been changed, making the text read today to be exactly the same as that dictated by the prophet Mohammed.It is important to highlight the importance that the Prophet Muhammad has for the Muslim people. By comparison, Muhammad is for Islam the equivalent of the figure of Jesus Christ for Christianity.
Etymologically, quran arose from the Arabic term Al-quran, which means “the recitation”, in the literal translation into the Portuguese language.
It is estimated that approximately a quarter (1/4) of the Earth's population (about 1.5 billion people) follow the precepts of the Qur'an, on different scales.
For Muslims, the term Quran is used to describe the original sacred text written in Arabic. When the text is translated, the correct expression is “Meaning of the Qur'an”, as it does not consist of the exact words spoken by Muhammad, but rather an adaptation.
