Rocky Mountain spotted fever: caused by rickettsia rickettsii, transmitted by the bite of the star tick (Amblyomma cajannense), causes high fever, headaches and muscle aches, in addition to vomiting. As this organism attacks the blood vessels, the disease causes subcutaneous hemorrhages. identified by the presence of reddish spots that appear on the skin, from the extremities to the center of the body. When not treated correctly, it can be fatal.
Rheumatic fever: has as main causative agent the Streptococcus pyogenes, but it can be triggered by the infection of other streptococcal species. Transmission occurs through the respiratory tract, when it comes in contact with saliva or nasal secretions from people affected by the disease. When entering the body, the bacteria causes joint pain and, in rarer cases, in predisposed individuals, an exaggerated reaction of the immune system. In the latter case, the body produces antibodies that end up affecting the patient's body, which may develop dermatological complications or complications related to the cardiac or nervous system.
Typhoid fever: this disease, caused by salmonella thypi, is transmitted by ingestion of water or food contaminated by the feces of affected individuals. It initially causes fever and headache. Later, these symptoms cease, giving rise to a diarrheal condition, this resulting from ulcerations caused by the bacteria in the intestine. If left untreated, it can cause progressive mental confusion and, in some cases, death.
