French writer born in Cajarc, Lot, Midi-Pyr, famous since the age of 18 when she published her first novel, the scandalous Bonjour Tristesse (1954), about spoiled bourgeois children. From a wealthy family, she was the daughter of the prosperous industrialist Pierre Quoirez, and Marie Laubard Quoirez. At the start of the war her family moved to Lyon and she was initially educated in Switzerland. With the liberation of France (1944) her family returned to Paris, where she even entered the Sorbonne University, but dropped out in the second year (1953). The following year she debuted in the literature of novels.
At the age of 19, he adopted the pseudonym Françoise Sagan and published the best-seller Bom Dia Tristeza, the story of a teenager and his playboy father, in which he portrays the sophisticated French society of the time, evoking themes such as relationships incestuous. In this work, the writer soon revealed her favorite themes that would be reflected in her vast bibliography. She was a literary revelation in the 50s and the author of novels, plays and screenplays, she became one of the most translated French writers in the world, and as a result, her books have sold millions of copies across the world.
Sick and hiding in Paris, she was hospitalized with lung problems when she died at age 69 in Honfleur, Normandy, France. Her other successes were Un Certain Souire (1956), Chateau en Suède (1960), La Robe Mauve de Valentine (1963), Le cheval évanoui (1966), Des bleus à l'âme (1972), La Femme fardée (1981), La Maison by Raquel Vega (1985) and Le miroir égaré (1996), among many others successes.
