The TasteAtlas gastronomic guide, from a respected gastronomic information platform for tourists, is known for generating rankings that point out the best and worst foods in the world.
After pointing out the best fruit and the best dessert of the world, the “worst” Brazilian food and even assert that Brazilian barbecue is not that good, the guide now lists the “worst” drink served in the country.

To create its rankings, TasteAtlas generates research surveys where Internet users can respond and give opinions freely. In other words, the lists generated in the guide reflect people's opinions and not the website itself.
But, what is the worst drink in Brazil?
According to TasteAtlas readers, the traditional catuaba is the worst drink served in Brazilian bars and restaurants.
This drink, which is common throughout Brazil, is created from an unlikely mixture that contains wine, ethyl alcohol, sugar, apple syrup and extracts of guaraná, marapuama and catuaba, the herb that gives the name to drink.
Here in the country, this “beat” is very popular, especially in the North and Northeast regions. However, it seems that foreigners who visit Brazil may not have the same perception.
The rest of the top 3
If you turned up your nose when you read that catuaba was elected as the worst Brazilian drink, it's because you still don't know the rest of the ranking made by TasteAtlas.
To give you an idea, in second and third place the website named cachaça and cajuína as the second and third worst drinks in Brazil, respectively.
While cachaça is a drink with a high alcohol content made with sugar cane extract, Cajuína is a type of “improved” cashew juice, and can also be found in the form of refrigerator.
