Man sues ex-wife for commenting on award he won

Whoever has never gossiped should cast the first stone! However, there are situations in which we should keep our mouths shut, especially when it comes to situations in which other people ask for absolute confidentiality!

This was the case of a man, resident of Maine, in the United States, and his ex-wife, mother of his daughter. He bet on Mega Millions and won the maximum prize: US$1.35 billion – equivalent to approximately R$6.6 billion at current prices.

Without a doubt, it is a very high amount! Anyone would be itching to tell someone about this: whether to share the happiness or to throw a little bit of envy – let's be realistic, right?

And that's what the woman did: she told her parents about the new billionaire on the block.

Gossip was expensive and led to breach of contract

It turns out that, according to information from the Daily Beast newspaper, the woman ended up commenting on a breach of contract. And for that, she was sued by her ex-husband.

When the man won the prize billionaire, he wanted to continue his life normally and keep everything private. It is precisely for this reason that the North American press did not reveal the identity of the lucky man.

According to the publication, they had a contract that prohibited her from revealing the information until 2032, the year in which their daughter turns 18 years old.

Now, he is asking for a six-figure fine for his ex-wife and the process is being carried out anonymously.

Everything in secrecy

As we know, man does not want same Let no one know that he has the money to do pretty much whatever he wants. And he was very, very lucky. After all, the chance he had of winning was one and more than 302 million!

What is known (without wanting to do gossip, but already doing it) is that the draw was done on January 13th and he received the prize in February, in just one deposit.

Furthermore, he did not receive the accumulated prize, as there was a tax deduction. Therefore, the final value was around US$723.5 million (R$3.5 billion at current prices).
