In São Paulo, for example, the competition to enter the medicine It is fierce, with 117.7 candidates fighting for every available spot, totaling 128 on campus. In Ribeirão Preto, the ratio is 86.6 candidates per vacancy, where 73 vacancies are at stake.
In Bauru, the medicine course is equally sought after, with 78.2 candidates per place for 43 available places. In addition to medicine, other courses that are also highly sought after are psychology, international relations and audio-visual.
The area of psychology in São Paulo records a rate of 62.6 candidates per vacancy, while in international relations the competition is 51.7 candidates per vacancy.

According to information from USP, the 2024 entrance exam attracted a total of 110,399 applicants, including both candidates and trainees.
Among this contingent, 10,826 registered are trainees, that is, students who have not yet completed high school. On the other hand, 99,573 are regular candidates. Comparatively, the total number of people registered to take the 2023 entrance exam was 114,434.
Of the total vacancies at USP, 4,888 are allocated to candidates in the Broad Competition modality, 2,053 vacancies for candidates public school (EP) graduates and 1,206 places for self-declared black, brown and indigenous public school students (EP/PPI).
