The conflict generated great repercussions, as the restaurant had maintained the same routine for many years. The closure was due to negotiations with the owner who rented the space.
The note left on the door stated that the owners are facing a major mental and physical health problem, claiming that they will no longer open the doors of the Contessa Balmain.
In the message, the restaurant owners also stated that, despite all the efforts made to preserve the heritage of the site, the selfish actions of the building owner frustrated any prospect of success in this sense.

“Dear Balmainian [restaurant patrons and fans], for physical and mental health reasons, Marco can no longer keep Countess Balmain’s doors open”, reveals the first paragraph of the note.

Some observers have linked the closure of the Contessa Balmain to the current crisis of rising costs of living that Australia faces, stating that “if the Contessa couldn't do it, no one will achieve it.”
The news.au portal highlighted that other establishments also closed their activities recently due to challenges in negotiations over occupancy values.
The Daily Mail contacted the entrepreneur, but it was his wife and business partner, Rose Adoncello, who responded to the query, and she expressed optimism, stating that the situation could change if there are negotiations.
