The scheme was publicized on social media by consumer lawyer João Carneiro. He reported in a video that drivers have access to an app called StopClub.

This system evaluates the race values and determines whether it is worth accepting or not.

Furthermore, the app automatically rejects rides considered disadvantageous. To activate it, drivers must enter the minimum amount they think is fair to earn for races.

“The StopClub app levels the playing field for app drivers. This is because it allows them to know how much they will earn, allowing them to receive decent remuneration for their work”, said the lawyer.

According to the expert, this discussion involves the disproportionate payment that Uber intended for drivers, meaning they are unable to receive decent remuneration for their services.

“The commission charged by Uber can reach 40% of the cost of the ride.” Therefore, the StopClub application shows drivers a calculation of the cost per kilometer driven, preventing them from the professional ends up at a loss and has to pay for fuel, maintenance and cleaning costs. vehicle.

App popular among Uber drivers

Due to the information offered, the StopClub application became popular among drivers. Its impact was so significant that Uber filed a lawsuit against the service's developers.

In contrast, the São Paulo Application Drivers Association (Amasp) decided to participate in the process in defense of the application that refuses rides. For the association, this tool is useful in the drivers’ work routine.

João Carneiro points out that, in addition to the discussion about StopClub's earnings calculator, Uber is also fighting to not register drivers' work cards.

The company's justification is that the professionals are not employees, but rather freelancers who can refuse or accept the races.

However, the practice of the service is different, as Uber has a system that evaluates the amount of accepted and declined races by professionals.

If they receive a low score in this assessment, their registrations may be harmed or even canceled by Uber.

The content points out that StopClub “has been very useful in a context in which Uber wants to maximize its profits and the consumer wants to pay as little as possible for transport”, says the lawyer.

Finally, this opened a discussion among followers by asking: “And you, do you think it is right that self-employed drivers can choose whether the service they are going to provide is actually interesting for them?”
