Inclusive Education will have resources of R$3 billion in four years

The universalization of enrollments, in order to guarantee the full inclusion (100%) of PwD students (Persons with Disabilities) in the public education network, combined with teacher training. These are, in general terms, the auspicious goals of the plan to affirm and strengthen the National Education Policy Special from the Perspective of Inclusive Education (PNEEPEI), over the next four years, through investments in the amount of R$ 3 billion.

In this context, one of the most delicate situations is that of autistic people, who face a series of difficulties, ranging from veiled denial to enroll, the ‘chronic’ lack of trained professionals and an adequate structure to carry out an education inclusive.

In this way, educational institutions correspond to social environments, where autistic people have the opportunity to work on autonomy and independence.

The ‘belonging’ factor – From a psychosocial point of view, the concept of accessibility materializes in the fact that it is not enough to be in the work environment teaching, ‘but belonging to it’, which demands effective strategies for inclusive education, not counting, of course, a lot of investment.

It is important to highlight that Brazil is a signatory to the 2007 New York Convention, also known as the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities proposed by the Organization of the United Nations (UN), which was promulgated in the country at the level of a constitutional amendment, which means that the guidelines established in the convention are part of our Constitution Federal.

Created in 2008, PNEEPEI in its 2023 edition contains a strengthening plan with the following goals:

  • Increase enrollment of people with disabilities in the common class;
  • Universalize student enrollment in common classes;
  • 100% of schools have their own building with accessibility features;
  • 100% of schools with materials and equipment for Multifunctional Resource Rooms;
  • 100% of regular class teachers with training in special education from the perspective of inclusive education;
  • 100% of Specialized Educational Service (AEE) teachers with two degrees in special education from the perspective of inclusive education;
  • At least one manager from each school with training in special education from the perspective of inclusive education; It is
