To date, none of therelated parties, neither Egypt nor Zambia confirmed having chartered the aircraft or being the owner of the cargo in question.

Given the absence of concrete answers, rumors soon began to spread, as the uncertainties surrounding this incident fueled a climate of mystery and speculation.

Mysterious plane has generated political speculation

Questions arose about the possible identity of those involved, raising the hypothesis that they could be high-ranking political or military figures, both from Egypt and Zambia.

Furthermore, speculations emerged regarding the nature of the flight in question: was it an isolated case or the first in a series of flights that were eventually intercepted?

Last Monday, the 28th, five Egyptian citizens, together with six Zambian individuals, who were part of the aircraft, appeared before a court in Lusaka.

Both the Egyptians and the Zambians were formally accused of involvement in smuggling and corruption activities.

The story might have gone unnoticed if not for the involvement of a journalist whose verification website facts, called Matsda2sh, launched accusations that suggested the involvement of Egyptian authorities in the incident in question.

Shortly after this information was published, Egyptian security agents fired without uniforms, carried out a raid on Karim Asaad's residence, located in Cairo, during the early hours of the morning, and the detained.

Initially, Asaad had simply disappeared, creating a mystery surrounding his whereabouts and the underlying reasons for his detention.

After a wave of protests that erupted on social media platforms, many of them coming from other media professionals, Karim Asaad was released just two days after his arrest.

However, the exact reason that led to his arrest remains shrouded in mystery. The Egyptian authorities limited themselves to mentioning that the plane discussed on the Asaad website was private in nature and was making a stopover in Cairo.

In this sense, they stated that the country and its authorities had no involvement in the case, according to this explanation.
