It was precisely this risk that American tiktoker Ben Reid decided to take on last week in an Italian restaurant. His video has amassed an impressive 5 million views to date.
The reaction of the Italians, totally angry and unyielding, is impressive. If for the cariocas it's a biscuit and for the people of São Paulo it's a cookie, for the Italians there's no conversation: it's prohibited put ketchup on pizza!

In the post shared by Reid, he decided to defy convention by covering a margherita pizza with ketchup, pouring the contents of the bottle over the plate alongside several people.
As the scene unfolds, an employee in the background reacts with disbelief, placing her hands over her head. Her gesture draws the attention of the manager, who is summoned to be a witness to this “infraction”.
With a meaningful expression, the manager removes his sunglasses and approaches the young man, asking with a mixture of curiosity and surprise: “What are you doing?”.
He picks up a bottle of ketchup and throws it far away, while emphatically exclaiming “no”.
Reid watches the bottle fly away and shares, per the video description, what his thoughts were at the time: of course, he thought death was getting closer!
Know that when you are in Italy, this is an attitude that should not even be considered. No putting additional pizza sauce next to an Italian!
