Anvisa collects Cellier tuna
Anvisa reported that the reported symptoms were in line with signs of food poisoning caused by histamine.
The information in this regard was provided to Anvisa by the Sanitary Surveillance Center of São Paulo, and the collection was published through theOfficial Diary of the Union (DOU).
The ban specifically applies to lot 08/05/23 of the product grated tuna in edible oil with vegetable broth, manufactured on May 8, 2023, with validity until May 8, 2025.
That is, the sale, distribution and use of tuna produced by Cellier Alimentos Linha Profissional, under registration SIF 3699, is prohibited.
Laboratory analysis conducted by the Institute of Food Technology (Ital) confirmed the presence of histamine at levels that exceeded the limits allowed by health regulations.
Histamine is a substance that is manufactured, in some cases, after the death of fish, especially when handling and storage practices are not adequate.
This substance can form as a result of these adverse conditions. The details were released by Anvisa itself, reinforcing the importance of strict care in the food production and distribution chain to avoid risks to the health of consumers.
