Faustão is a TV presenter, journalist and broadcaster. The communicator became known for commanding the program for more than 30 years domingão Faustão, on TV Globo.
The communicator began his career as a reporter on radio stations in the interior of São Paulo. As Lost in the night, from TV Gazeta, Faustão debuted on Brazilian television as a TV presenter in 1984.
In 1989 debuted the domingão Faustão, which marked Sunday afternoons and evenings with shows such as “Videocassetadas” and “Dança dos Famosos”. After leaving Globo in 2021, the presenter had a short stint at Band, as he announced his retirement.

Faustão's childhood and adolescence
Faustão (Fausto Correa da Silva) was born on May 2, 1950 in São Paulo (SP). Despite being born in the capital, the presenter grew up in the interior of São Paulo, in the cities of Tatuí, Porto Ferreira and Araras.
In Campinas, he took the Classic Course, which is equivalent to high school, aimed at those who wanted to pursue a career in the area of Human Sciences. In that course he was a classmate of Regina Duarte.
Faustão finished his school studies in Campinas. Over there, he started law school at the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) in the city. The communicator did not complete the training.
O first contact with the radio was at the age of 14 as an announcer. In these first experiences, he narrated social and everyday events, such as birthday parties and book signings.

Faustão's radio career
Faustão started acting as a reporter at the age of 15 at Rádio CentenáriThe, located in the city of Araras, São Paulo.
At Rádio Cultura de Campinas he had a stint as a reporter on duty and commanded the music program New Pop International.
At age 20 he went to Rádio Record, in São Paulo. There he presented and wrote the Night news. In 1971 he became a field reporter at the station. He then went to Rádio Jovem Pan, where he held the same position as a reporter.
Your debut on Rádio Globo took place in 1982. At the time, he was hired to be a sports commentator on the program Good morning São Paulo. At Rádio Excelsior, he commanded the seesaw with the participation of comedians and journalists.
He also contributed to the newspaper The State of St. Paul, where he wrote about sports. On Sundays, at that time, he participated in the program rooster challenge, from TV Record. At the invitation of Goulart de Andrade, Faustão commanded the program 23rd hour, broadcast by TV Gazeta.

Faustão's career as a TV presenter
Faustão began his career as a TV presenter in 1984 under the command of Lost in the night, on TV Gazeta. The attraction was marked by the participation of special guests. Artists such as Tim Maia, Djavan and the bands Legião Urbana and Titãs were on stage.
After one year, the program won an auditorium and was transferred to TV Record. Perdidos na Noite started to be broadcast on national television by TV Bandeirantes (Band), remaining on the air between 1986 and 1988.

O domingão Faustãoaired for the first time on March 26thand 1989. The TV Globo program, aired weekly on Sundays, has always featured varied scenes such as musicals, interviews and games.
At the hearing, the dispute was against the popular Silvio Santos Program, from the Brazilian Television System (SBT).

One of the most famous paintings, and also one of the most enduring, was the "Seeshelled”. In it, Faustão narrated several episodes of various comic situations and accidents that happened to unknown people.
O “Faustão Truck”, which began in 1989, delivered various gifts across the country, such as household appliances. In 2010, he was replaced by “Avião do Faustão”.
With an emotional focus, the "Confidential file" it showed other perspectives of artists and celebrities. Testimonials from friends and family generated emotion on Sunday afternoons and formed a tribute to each guest on the program. The premiere took place in 1995.
In the year 2002 it was the turn of the “Turns around 30” get on the air domingão Faustão. On the board, participants had to demonstrate their skills and performances. The audience voted and chose the best attraction, which received a cash prize.

After spending more than 30 years on TV Globo, Faustão returned to Band to command the auditorium program Faustão in the Band. Transmitted from Monday to Friday, at night, the program continued with the characteristic diversity of attractions and pictures.
His son João Guilherme and Anne Lottermann accompanied the presenter, who was in charge of the program between January 2022 and May 2023.

Faustão's family
Faustão is married to producer and former model Luciana Cardoso. She even worked with the presenter on domingão Faustão. The two met in 2001.
Lara Silva is the daughter of the first marriage by Faustão, with Magda Colares. The young woman is reserved and stays out of the spotlight. Faustão's marriage to Magda Colares lasted ten years. They broke up in 2000.
João Guilherme is the eldest son of Faustão with Luciana. The young man follows his father's career as a communicator. He worked with Faustão, at Band, between 2022 and 2023. Rodrigo is the youngest of Fausto Silva, who is also Luciana's son.
Fausto today
At the age of 73, Faustão confirmed his retirement. The presenter walked away from the command of the program Faustão in the Band in May 2023, after a year and a half on air on the station.
His son João Guilherme and Anne Lottermann occupied the position of presenters of the attraction. The last episode of Faustão in the Band aired on August 18, 2023 and was marked by tributes from the presenters to Faustão.
In August 2023, the communicator was hospitalized because of heart failure.
