Recently, a curious sea creature was discovered in the waters off the coast of Wales, in the United Kingdom, and shared by a navigator last Tuesday (15).
This peculiar creature is known as lamprey and belongs to a species that is 340 million years old. With an appearance that resembles an eel, the fish can reach up to 60 centimeters in length.

Sea creature was found by fishermen
It was fisherman Craig Evans who made the discovery, sharing it on his Instagram account. He found a dead lamprey while fishing for trout in a west Wales river. The bixo was approximately one kilo.
Craig pointed out that such fascinating creatures of nature go through an evolutionary journey, being born in fresh water and feeding on small algae and micro-organisms before migrating to the sea. There, they adopt a different eating habit, consuming larger fish.
The most feared feature of the lamprey is its mouth, which looks like a suction cup, attaching itself to the side of the fish and sucking blood as part of its diet.
The intriguing animal has the ability to enjoy a lifespan that can span around two decades and is found in various areas around the world. UK.
Generally, its appearance is marked by a body with yellowish or black spots, contrasting with a lighter belly.
