O President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvaannounced this Thursday (16) a readjustment between 25% and 200% on research grants from high school to graduate school.
The Minister of Science and Technology, Luciana Santos, stated that this readjustment is a "commitment to Brazilian science and the future of our country".
Currently, around 250,000 research students are awarded scholarships to encourage research in different stages of education.
Minister Luciana Santos also announced the expansion of the supply of 10 thousand new bags it's from BRL 150 million in promotion notices of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
Luciana highlighted the importance of research as a tool for scientific development and technological innovation. This initiative, according to the minister, aims to strengthen the country's scientific capacity.
The Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, reinforced that science works to solve several issues in the country: environmental, social, health, infrastructure, among others. He considers this moment symbolic for Brazilian scientific research.
The readjustment of scholarships strengthen, according to Luciana Santos, the qualification, duration and permanence of researchers.
They are BRL 2.38 billion investment Ministry of Education (MEC) and Ministry of Science and Technology.

Readjustment of research grants
Check the readjustments and new values of research and graduate scholarships:
Scholarships for Scientific Initiation (High School): from R$100 to BRL 300
Scholarships for Scientific Initiation (Higher Education): from R$400 to R$700
Basic education teacher training grants: readjustment from 40% to 75%
Master's Scholarships: from R$1,500 to BRL 2,100
Doctoral Scholarships: from R$2,200 to BRL 3,100
Postdoctoral Scholarships: from R$4,100 to BRL 5,200
Will be offered in 2023:
125.7 thousand grants for training basic education teachers;
53 thousand scholarships for scientific initiation.
Minister Luciana Santos said that scientific initiation programs arouse interest in scientific and technological careers. These activities can be developed even in high school and also in graduation.
