Auxílio Brasil is the largest income transfer program in the country, currently with approximately 18.1 million beneficiaries. The plan is to start paying the new amount of R$600.00 on August 9th, but the release of payment schedules and increase in value over the next five months are not the only news. In addition to these factors, the Federal Government is planning a new mass inclusion, in addition to expanding the benefit scheduled for next month. know more

More money to bring new families into the program
The measure will be made possible with the so-called Constitutional Amendment Proposal, the Social Security PEC, which, approved by Congress, releases more than R$ 41 million to create and expand benefits for the population. In addition, more than half of the amount was allocated to Auxílio Brasil, with the objective of increasing monthly benefit installments to R$ 600 between August and December.
However, the Ministry of Citizenship also plans to use part of the budget to bring about 1.7 million new vulnerable families into the program.
Large queues of vulnerable families
The Ministry also claimed that the number of new program benefits was not enough to end the waiting list for the Brazil Aid. That is, the number of Brazilians waiting for the benefit was much greater than the amount available to aggregate them.
According to Marcelo Neri, director of FGV Social, the waiting list for the program continues to grow due to widespread poverty and the impact of inflation on the income of Brazilians. The increase to R$600.00 also encouraged many disadvantaged groups to seek enrollment in the program.
Priority list to enter the program:
- People subjected to child labor;
- People free from work similar to slavery;
- Quilombolas;
- Indigenous;
- Collectors of materials for recycling;
- In addition to other categories permitted and substantiated by the Ministry of Citizenship.
Furthermore, there are predetermined requirements for accepting the Brazil Aid. See what they are below:
- First, be registered in the CadÚnico system (Social Programs of the Federal Government);
- It is also necessary to be chosen by the Ministry of Citizenship, according to its priorities;
- Finally, being categorized in a situation of poverty or extreme poverty.
