1. convey your emotions

Before leaving your feelings leak, think about who is around you. When you're in a bad mood, you don't want to take it out on the people around you and provoke fights or lose their support. Try to gently convey to your partner that you are not in the mood and may need some alone time or even that you need to talk. That is, clearly state your need at that moment, whether it is space or company.

2. Solve the small problems first

Don't spend your time thinking about complex or time-consuming activities when you're in a bad mood. Instead, do your basic needs first, like eating a good meal, doing simple housework, and getting good rest.

3. Avoid making important decisions

When we're hot-headed, making important decisions is never a good idea because our judgment is impaired. If you've had a fight with your partner, have an important presentation in college, or are in a tough spot, take some time to think things through before making a decision. That way, you can avoid your emotions speaking louder and end up making a decision on impulse.

4. Use relaxation techniques

Once you've done basic activities like resting and eating, you can try a relaxation technique to ease your mind. Meditation, using an app or even alone, for 15 minutes can already help a lot.

For those who like to write down their feelings in a diary, it's a good technique to get what's bothering you out of your head and get your ideas clear.

Light physical exercise such as walking, jogging, or cycling can calm you down and make you feel better. Finally, you can seek distraction by watching a movie, or playing a video game, or even listening to music, anything that can calm you down and reassure you.
