The reason for the suspension
According to the DODF, the main reason for the suspension of these drivers' licenses was the use of psychoactive substances while driving. It is, therefore, an assessment based on Prohibition, which is Law 11,705 of 2008.
Contrary to what many people think, the law does not only aim to end the consumption of alcoholic beverages while driving, but any psychoactive substance. Thus, licit and illicit drugs and substances that cause cognitive impairment can result in legal action.
