In addition to the pandemic years, 2022 is also being marked as a very troubled period, not only in Brazil, with the presidential elections and the politically divided country, but also in the world, with the war between Russia and Ukraine. Given these circumstances, the word of the year was permacrisis, a condition of the mind that explains what many adults are going through.

What is Permacrisis?
This word summarizes the vertigo sensation of our mind, since we feel that we are swamped with problems and when we leave one, we automatically enter another without some kind of break. And because of the circumstances of the world, we are always thinking that the worst is yet to come and that there will be no improvement with the passage of time.
In order to understand how permacrisis affects the mind, specialist Katia da Silva Wanderley, psychologist and director of the Psychology at the State Public Servant Hospital (Hspe), says that “the permacrisis is the difficulty of finding the solution to what makes you suffer”.
The causes of this condition can be not only external, but also internal and personal problems, which can aggravate the person's situation.
How is our mind attacked?
The sum of global and interpersonal problems causes permacrisis in people's minds, which can attack in different ways.
“The longer the period of permacrisis, the more the psychic balance is eroded, allowing the aggravation of mental illnesses that already exist, as well as the appearance of diseases that were not yet present in the person's life, such as depression, panic syndrome, anxiety crises and others", he says Wanderley.
How to avoid this feeling?
Seeking professional help is the first step to avoiding this state of mind. Going to therapy will help you resolve yourself, and thus make problems that once seemed too complicated to become simpler.
Another highly recommended option is the practice of physical exercises. The body needs to move, discharge energy, and nothing better than a good run, lifting weights or even practicing martial arts.
Experts also recommend detoxing from social media and news for a certain period of time. The amount of information we receive in a day is often too heavy for us to handle, and this can pressure your brain to enter a state of anxiety.
