As disclosed by the ministry, the steps were organized in relation to: existing dose stocks, the new orders placed by the folder and the delivery commitments already assumed by the various manufacturers of vaccines.
As for the month of April, the forecast is to intensify the vaccination campaign against influenza, even before the arrival of winter, as lower temperatures cause an increase in the number of respiratory diseases contracted by the population general. In addition, vaccinations against measles and poliomyelitis should take place en masse in schools in the month of May.
The schedule was divided into five stages, made in agreement with representatives of the Council National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) and the National Council of Municipal Health Secretaries (Conasems). It can still be changed due to changes in deliveries or the approval of new laboratories by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).
The steps will go like this:
1st stage – February
Reinforcement with a bivalent vaccine against Covid-19, intended for the following audiences:
- Pregnant women and postpartum women;
- Immunocompromised patients;
- Disabled people;
- People at higher risk of severe forms of Covid-19;
- People over 60 years old;
- People living in Long Stay Institutions (ILP);
- Indigenous, riverside and quilombola peoples;
- Health workers.
2nd stage – March
Greater emphasis on vaccination against Covid-19, aimed at:
- Population over 12 years old.
3rd stage – March
Intensification of vaccines against Covid-19, aimed at children and adolescents:
- Children and adolescents between 6 months and 17 years.
4th stage – April
Vaccination against Influenza before the arrival of winter, with emphasis on the following audiences:
- adolescents in socio-educational measures;
- truckers;
- children aged 6 months to 4 years;
- Armed forces;
- security and rescue forces;
- pregnant and puerperal women;
- people with comorbidities;
- disabled people;
- People over 60 years old;
- population deprived of liberty;
- indigenous, riverside and quilombola peoples;
- teachers;
- public transport professionals;
- professionals from the Deprivation of Liberty System;
- port professionals;
- health workers.
5th Stage – May
Finally, the last stage will be dedicated to multivaccination against polio and measles, applied in schools.
