PL provides for the end of the obligation to attend driving schools
The project is from 2019, but was discussed again last May. At the moment, the text is being analyzed by the Commission for Constitution, Justice and Citizenship (CCJ) and, if approved, it will go to a vote in the Chamber of Deputies. A deadline for approval has not yet been set.
According to senator Kátia Abreu, around 80% of the amount spent to obtain a driver's license is allocated to theoretical and practical classes at driving schools. According to the Bill (PL), it will still be mandatory to take the health and psychotechnical exams, as well as pass the theoretical and practical tests.
Students can prepare individually
What changes, in practice, with the project, is that students can choose to prepare themselves independently or with instructors accredited by the Detran of their respective state. In this way, it could be a saving for the students.
public consultation
The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Infrastructure, started a public consultation on the process of training drivers in Brazil. You can answer the survey by clicking here. The deadline for citizens to respond is September 8.
The document deals with two resolutions of the National Traffic Council (Contran), the first on the examination and specialization, in relation to the non-mandatory theoretical classes for those taking the first qualification.
The research mentions in the second part of the document the approval of the Brazilian Training Manual for Conductor, which corresponds to the contents to instruct drivers, as well as the exam rules applied. Participation in the survey is important, as it is a mandatory step to enable the implementation of new resolutions.
